While Ambreen Khan of Ridgewood was helping a family in Pakistan rebuild their home that was severely damaged by rain, she received a video of the construction site.
In the video, “I … noticed a little boy who was being held by his mom. Having 3 beautiful children of my own, I immediately noticed his feet,” Khan wrote on a GoFundMe page she created to raise funds for the boy’s foot surgeries and travel expenses to the hospital.
The boy, named Abdul, was born with what is commonly known as club foot, she wrote.
“Surgery costs money. Money that the family doesn’t have. The mother can barely feed her family but prays to see her son walk,” Khan wrote.
More than $3,000 had been raised for Abdul by Monday afternoon.
“He's only 8 month old and has his whole life ahead of him. Please find it in your heart to help me raise money to give this little boy a chance to walk,” Khan wrote.
